A loobying action to the European Parliament, from June 18th to 22th , 2007
Following a very successful Political Round Table on NGVs this past April 2006 in Brussels, ENGVA now is organizing another Political Round Table, this time aimed at the European Parliament. Raising awareness among MEPs about the environmental and energy security advantages of NGVs is essential to obtain more political support within the European Union. Scheduled for 20 June 2007 in Strasbourg at the European Parliament building, the event will be held in conjunction with the ENGVA Annual European NGV Conference and Exhibition.
Unlike last year’s event where the Political Round Table was held separately from the Conference, the 2007 Round Table will be part of the Annual NGV Conference to replace the normal conference sessions in the afternoon of 20 June 2007. Also there is a vehicle exhibition planned in an area adjacent to the conference hotel so that conference participants will be able to enjoy viewing the latest NGV technologies. ENGVA has been granted permission to display NGVs at the front entrance to Parliament so the vehicles will receive excellent exposure to the Members of Parliament, their staff, the press, and others from the European Commission who will be in Strasbourg at Parliament that week. This also coincides with the handover of the European Union Presidency from the German leadership to the Portuguese, so press attention is expected to be at a maximum level.
The series of events planned by ENGVA for this week will be an excellent opportunity to achieve the highest level of political visibility and contact with both the European Parliament and the European Commission.
