The BIOGASMAX Symposium of Experts
The BIOGASMAX Symposium of Experts “The Biomethane Decision� took place on 3 April 2007 in Lille, France.This meeting gathered a group of experts in the field of biogas and biomethane production, distribution and market development to discuss the optimal circumstances for a municipality or region to implement biomethane as an environmentally friendly fuel solution.
During the morning plenary session three presentations introduced the biomethane pathway, the various aspects of biomethane business and the lessons learned from research in the BIOGASMAX project. Afterwards, two and a half hours were devoted to discussions among experts in breakout sessions. One group discussed the technical aspects of biomethane production and distribution, while the other group focused on the topic of biomethane business. In another plenary session at the end of the day, the breakout session leaders reported each working groups’ findings.

In addition, interested participants took part in a visit to the Pierrette biomethane production site and bus depot during the morning of 4 April 2007.
